PlayStation es una videoconsola creada por Sony en la década de los 90, después de fallar un acuerdo con Nintendo para desarrollar un añadido para la Super Nintendo llamado SNES PlayStation. Fue lanzada en Japón el 3 de diciembre de 1994 y en los Estados Unidos el 9 de septiembre de 1995. Tuvo un gran éxito comercial y trajo consigo la entonces llamada "Generación PlayStation".
